These days many users want to try linux but are in a dilemma that whether they will be able to install linux themselves or not. Installing linux is very easy task but if you think you might not be able to install linux or it is not easy to install linux then just read the step by step guide given below and then decide yourself that installing linux is easy or not. I am going to teach how to install ubuntu linux step by step as it is one of the most famous linux os. You can download ubuntu from here. After downloading ubuntu you need to create a cd or live usb Drive. Now lets start installing ubuntu linux.

Step 1 : Insert the ubuntu cd in the cd drive and boot the computer from cd. First of all you will be prompted to select language. elect English or other language according to your preferences.

Step 2 : Now you will see ubuntu menu, you can choose Try ubuntu without installing option to try ubuntu without actually installing it on your hard drive. For installing ubuntu choose the second option Install Ubuntu.

Step 3 : Ubuntu will start now initialize and after few minutes you can see the installation wizard.

Step 4 : Click Forward and it will check the minimum requirements for running ubuntu on your PC. If everything is fine you can see green colored tick marks. You can also select to download updates while installing and install some third party software. After selecting the things you want click forward.

Step 5 : Now you can choose either erase and use entire disk option or specify partitions manually option. You can choose the 1st option if you just want linux to exist in your system. Else select second option. Now it will display the free space available for your pc

Select free space and click on Add option to create a new partition and choose partition type as primary, size around 70% of the free space available or choose anything like 10,000 or 20,000mb, use as ext3 journaling file system and select mount point as /.

Now again select free space from the table and click add option. Now select size to be around 300mb, use as ext3 journaling file system and select mount point as /boot.

Now again select free space from the table and click add option. Now select size to be around twice the size of your ram that is around 1000 mb if your ram size is 512mb and select use as swap area and click ok.

Step 6 : Click Install now button and then the wizard will ask you location. Select your location and click forward.

Step 7 : While you are selecting these options wizard will continue to copy files. Now select your desired keyboard layout and click forward.

Step 8 : Now fill in the details about yourself. Fill your name, computer name, choose a username and create a password and click forward and let ubuntu copy all the essential files.

Step 9 : After all files have been copied and installed ubuntu will display a message saying that installation complete and click on restart button to restart your computer. Remove the cd from the cd drive.

Step 10 : After restarting your pc wait for the ubuntu to load and then it will display the login screen. Choose the user and enter password and click login.

How To Install Ubuntu Linux – Complete Step by Step

Prepare the installation media (DVD, USB flash, etc) and start the installation process. If you don’t have the Windows Server 2016 installation software, Download the software from Microsoft website.

1. Plug the Windows Server 2016 boot drive (DVD, USB) to the computer and boot your computer. When the Windows Setup page appears, select your language, time format and keyboard then click on Next button.

2. Now click on Install now button to start the installation process.

3. Select the appropriate version of the windows server that meets your organization’s needs then click Next. Make sure that you’ve chosen an appropriate edition of Windows server.

4. Put a check mark in the box next to the I accept license terms and click on the Next button. License term is about the way you want to buy license for your server from Microsoft.

5. Select the Custom: Install Windows only (advanced) option for clean installation. Clean installation is the term used against upgrade. When you upgrade a Windows server you can have your settings, apps, etc from previous version of Windows. When you do the clean installation you can’t have the settings, apps, etc.

6. Select the hard drive that you want to install the windows server on, then click on the Newbutton to do the partitions.

7. After clicking on the New button, some options appear. Specify the amount of the drive based on MB and click on the Apply button. A warning appears which wants you to give the permission to system to create a drive for system files. Click on ok button, if you want to add more drives do this process again. When finished hit Next.

8. After clicking Next the System starts coping all the files from the external drive to internal hard drive. It will take a while so be patient. Be aware that your system will be restarted several times.

9. When the system copied all the files and restarted, finalize your task by entering the required details. Type complex password (composed of uppercase, lowercase, symbol and numbers) twice in the boxes and click on the Finish button. User name is Administrator by default.

10. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del buttons to jump start the screen to a login page and inside the box below the administrator user name, enter the password and press Enter button from the keyboard to sign in the Windows.

11. After you logged in the Windows you see the some thing like the picture below. Welcome to Windows Server 2016.

Windows Server 2012, codenamed “Windows Server 8”, is the sixth release of Windows Server. It is the server version of Windows 8 and succeeds Windows Server 2008 R2. Two pre-release versions, a developer preview and a beta version, were released during development.

In this easy step by step guide, we will learn how to install and activate Windows Server 2012.

Before you start make sure you have the minimum requirements to install Windows Server (Windows Server Requirements):

Processor: Minimum: 1.4 GHz 64-bit processor
Ram: Minimum: 512 MB
Disk Space: Minimum: 32 GB
Other requirements:

Now that we have everything we need, We can Start:

1- Insert the Windows Server 2012 DVD, and once you get the following message press Enter to boot from the setup

2- Wait for a while till the setup loads all necessary files (Depending on your machine, it will take couple of minutes)

3- Once the setup files are loaded, the setup will start with the following screen. You can change these to meet your needs (the default values should be fine for now)

4- Once you click Next, you can start the installation, click “Install now”

5- You will see the following screen, wait until it finishes loading

6- In the following setup screen, you will see four options. Select WindowsServer 2012 DataCenter Evaluation (Server With GUI).

7- After you click Next from previous screen, Read the License terms,

tick the“I accept the license terms” and click Next

8- Now It will ask you for the drive (or partition) you want to install Windows on. Here I’m installing it on the one partition I have here. NOTE: This will remove the content of the partition. Either you create a partition to install windows on, or you can test this on a testing machine

9- Now once we picked our partition, clicking on next from previous screen will start the setup. This process might take a while.

10- Once the setup is done, it will restart and start your Windows Server 2012 for the first time. It will ask you then to set up a password for the Administrator user

11- The setup will finalize your settings, might take a couple of minutes

12- Once the setup is done, you can log in for the first time to your Windows Server, as the screen says, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to log in, and use the password you set in the setup process
